Ford Motor Company has announced record-breaking sales after counting 24,217 hybrid vehicles sold in the second quarter of 2013.
The increase represents a 15 percent over the first quarter of 2013. Both the Ford C-Max Hybrid and Fusion Hybrid have seen sales growth in non-traditional hybrid markets such as Miami, New York, Washington, D.C., and Seattle.

The American automaker’s share of the U.S. electrified vehicle market has now grown to nearly 16 percent, a 12-point gain over last year. It will be interesting to see if Ford continues to see growth in its hybrid model sales in the third quarter, considering it just had to admit that its hybrids failed at achieving the MPG claimed. Ford currently offers six electrified vehicles including the Focus Electric and Lincoln MKZ Hybrid and announced that its hybrid trucks and SUVs are on track and will be available by the end of this decade.
